Beau has been practising yoga since 2013 and teaching since 2018. He teaches vinyāsa, haṭha, yin, praṇayama, and meditation in person across London and online through the Online Studio.
Teaching style
Beau's approach to yoga combines traditional philosophy with modern movement practices, using movement, breath, and effort to cultivate a deeper connection to the true Self, and less attachment to the ego and the suffering therefrom.
His four core principles are:
- Beginner's mind
- Staying open to possibilities, removing assumptions, and avoiding self-imposed limitations
- Karma yoga
- Practising without attachment to outcomes, focusing on effort rather than results
- Full-range mobility
- Developing flexibility, strength, and control through full-range joint movement
- Self-realisation
- Using study and practise as a means to realise the Self
What to expect in his classes
In his physical classes, expect to move in unison, with breathing as the soundtrack. You'll start with simple movements which will layer into more complex arrangements, making the challenging accessible. For meditation, expect an inviting, protective space to allow for greater introspection and spiritual awakening.
Recent projects
Beau founded the Yoga Philosophy Study Club, a community for in-depth yoga philosophy with accurate translation and guided meditations. The club built a library of recorded sessions exploring the foundational texts of yoga. A new edition of it is coming soon.
Training
Beau holds Yoga Alliance's E-RYT 500, their highest certification. He has taught over 2,000 hours of classes.
His certifications include training in vinyāsa flow with Jason Crandell, haṭha-raja with Ambra Vallo, yin yoga with Norman Blair, and others.
He has also completed (multiple) courses on the Yoga Sūtras; the history of yoga; Sanskrit and mantra; Tibetan yogas; and breathwork.
